Simon Hastings joined the Practice in 1990 having gained experience in London and also Saudi Arabia and North Carolina, USA.
Simon has considerable experience in large scale retail projects, recently completing the extension and refurbishment of The Mall Shopping Centre in Blackburn and the Kingsway Shopping Centre in Newport – with its award winning Car Park. His work in Health Club design has developed the Leisure experience and Mixed-Use areas of the Practice’s experience. This included a number of projects for Holmes Place Health Clubs in Britain and Paris, France.
Simon took a two year sabbatical in Hong Kong to develop awareness of Asian markets, design and working methods, returning in 1998 to become a Director with Colman Architects.
Outside work Simon enjoys watching and playing tennis. He also likes to visit places of architectural interest and has a real eye for detail so often returns from his excursions with some great shots on his camera.
