Before joining Colman Architects, Chris worked for the Engineering consultancy, Halcrows in the Middle East. He was resident architect at Sharjah Airport, UAE, The Port of Jubail, Saudi Arabia and for the palaces of the late King Hussein of Jordan.
Having been at college with Trevor Colman, Chris was invited to join his practice, Duffy Colman Anderson in April 1990 which later became Colman Architects of which Chris was a founder member so he been with the practice for 25 years. His early projects with the firm include Boots Corner, Glasgow; The Quadrant, Swansea and The Capitol Centre, Cardiff. His landscape design for Kirkby Shopping Centre won an award from the BCSC. Apart from retail refurbishment schemes, Chris was the associate responsible for Colliers House, Brompton Road, London, developing unoccupied office floors into 8 prime location, residential apartments.
In 2005, Chris obtained his qualifications as a project manager and, in this capacity, successfully completed the transformation of The Headrow Centre into The Core in Leeds.
Chris is currently responsible for the £17 million redevelopment of The Mander Centre,Wolverhampton and the £5.7 million redevelopment of Festival Park, Basildon.
Outside work, Chris’ interests include choral music (a fine baritone voice), gardening (a no-chemicals policy which the weeds love) and grandchildren (currently 5 but likely to increase).
